Satco Starfish Smart Patio and Tape Light

LED Smart lighting has become increasingly popular over the last couple of years. It’s one of the easiest ways to automate your home lighting. Who doesn’t want to be able to turn lights on and off from their smart phone or with voice commands? One of the newest lines of smart lighting to come out is the Startfish from Satco.

The Startfish line of products include of a variety of bulbs, down lights, tape light, and patio stringers. These lights connect to your WiFi and do not need a hub. You're able to control all of these products with an app you can download called Starfish. Once you do that and you've got your devices paired up, which is super easy to do, you'll be able to control them with a click of a button. In this first post, we’ll take a look at the patio and tape lights.

Starfish Patio Lights

Starfish patio lights allow you go back and forth between warm white, cool white, and RBG colors with a press of a button.  Warm white is going to be around 2700K or 3000K, which cool white is around 5000K to 6500K. For RGB, you can choose from a variety of color shades using a color wheel on the app. The app also allows you to dim the dim the light output, adjust the hue and saturation, and more.

The patio stringers are 24 feet in length with 10 lamps. The lamps are plastic, making that a great choice for over pools or anywhere you might be afraid of glass breaking. You can connect three of these patio stringers together end to end, creating a 72 foot with 30 light bulbs.

Feature Spotlight: When Starfish products are turned off, they will come back to the last setting when turned back on.

Starfish Tape Light

The Starfish smart tape light has features very similar to the patio lights. Using the color wheels and preset buttons, you can select between 2700 to 5000K color temperatures or vibrant RGB colors. All of the colors can be dimmed and have adjustable hues. There are also several preset effects that you can customize to your preferences.

There are a few different options when buying these tape lights. The six-foot kit comes with everything you need to set it up right out of the box, including the power cord and controller. A three-foot extension is also available if you need to lengthen the six-foot kit. You can connect up to eight of these extensions to the six-foot tape light, giving you a maximum of 30 feet. Both the six-foot and extensions are for indoor use. For outdoor applications, a 16-foot kit is available.

Feature Spotlight: All Starfish products can be places into groups with the app, allowing you to control all of them at the same time.
